Students at Shirebrook Academy are able to participate in a varied and exciting range of extra-curricular activities. We believe that being a part of these activities, clubs and teams can really enrich student lives, help to build and maintain friendships and strengthen children’s engagement in their learning.  In addition to the choice of traditional sports and music clubs, students are also encouraged to recommend activities they would like to be made available.

We also offer academic interventions for our exam year groups, and we call these ‘Boost Your Grade’ (BYG) Sessions. During these sessions, subject specialists support students in specific areas in order to deepen knowledge, impact on progress and help students feel ‘exam ready’ in their subject areas.

Independent Learning (Homework) Club is available to all students in all year groups.  Students are able to access electronic devices if needed and staff are available to support students with any questions they may have regarding their learning.

Alongside our full programme of afterschool activities open to all students, our Inclusion team offer bespoke clubs for our students with SEND.
